how to, and what it is to be a writer
What’s it like being a writer? Well, first and foremost, most people will tell you, you have to come up with an idea, concept and work forward from that. I find that just writing down a passage or events that I think sounds cool or unique and from that initial spark the story grows and that idea gather momentum to take the story forward. For example, when I first wrote the Riders of the North it started with just a dream I had about a medieval battle field with heavily laden warriors combating Mongol riders with their composite bow. And from that simple dream the whole project sprang forth onto the pages of my notebook and then I moved it onto the computer and, eventually, into the two stories I’ve published to date, alongside the full novel I’m sitting on at the moment.
The Week #29 26th July, 2015
Hello and I hope you are all OK. I have something different to talk about this week, instead of talking about current events around the world I decided that I would talk about my venture into the writing world. It has been around eight months or so since my first book was released (if you haven’t got a copy yet then do get it – Amazon link– soon going on lulu too!) Tech Tuesday #2, 6th January, 2015
Hello again. For this instalment of Tech Tuesday I have assumed most of you are watching and listening to the grape vine as the tech show goes on in Las Vegas, so I thought I would give a swift overview of the show so far and my take on it, I will probably go into more detail next week.
Rose is here – available today
Rose is here, finally, a story of a young girl caught up in something much larger than her. Read the prequel to ‘The Games’ here. Rose’s story is the sister book to ‘The Horse Lord’.
Available here: UK link USA book link
I recommend picking up the Horse Lord too, if you haven’t already, to truly meet all of my assembled cast before ‘The Games’ arrives. Both books are independent of each other but together you have a good insight into the back story in advance of the publication of ‘The Games’. Rose’s story is more about uncertainty and magic while the horse lord is more straight out fighting and adventure. So pick both up today you can get the Horse Lord on the Horse Lord page here.
